Work in Context

This large-scale sculpture reimagines traditional Windsor chairs as human figures, transforming everyday objects into a powerful narrative of sacrifice and love. One chair, missing a leg, leans precariously—vulnerable yet resilient. The second chair, sensing its counterpart’s need, extends its arm-like structure to serve as a leg, offering unwavering support.

Their interwoven forms evoke a quiet yet profound intimacy, where love is expressed through selflessness and shared strength. Despite their rigid structure, they feel almost alive, frozen in an eternal embrace of care and devotion.

The intentional use of Windsor chairs, deeply tied to Nova Scotia’s craftsmanship and heritage, reinforces the sculpture’s message of endurance, connection, and timeless support in the area.
